I am not a fan of dating sites who uses fake people to talk and lure members into joining them. That is just outright lying and a waste of time. Why do these people think I joined a dating site? The bots are fun to play with and they sent me a lot of sexy bot pictures, but I don't think I can last long on this site. It's free though, so no harm done I guess. - Clint, 29, Manager

The site will claim to have 100% free lifetime membership, but they actually offer a premium membership.
This premium package is written in very small letters beside the box where you can verify your age.
Verifying your age will cost you 0.99 USD which will be refunded within 7 days.
There is also an option to buy an add-on membership from pickup-guru.com, an external site, for 29.99 USD per month. You will get a free 3-day trial to use on this site if you buy through Spdate.
Spdate says it will entitle you to "unlimited access to the site" if you buy a premium membership. But upon testing, all the site's features are available to use even while having a free account. Anyhow, you will get the following perks when you upgrade:
- Receive more messages, likes, and visits
- Get access to the most active users list
- Get unlimited access to photos
- Bring your messages to the TOP list inside inboxes

Despite being a new member, you will receive tons of messages from different people during your first few minutes of successfully creating an account. This can happen because Spdate creates artificial profiles or bots as users when there is low activity inside the site.
Spdate said that the purpose of this provision is to prevent the interruption of members chatting, which is a key feature on the site. They also do this when the number of active users is decreasing.
You will know whether someone is an artificial user through an icon on their profile pictures next to their name that says "UP" which stands for "Unreal Personality."
If the UP icon on a profile is green, there is a higher chance that this profile will reply to you. If it is red, then the profile is currently busy talking to other members.

How does Spdate work?
Spdate offers a straightforward registration process and an intuitive design
The platform allows users to create profiles, browse others, and engage in messaging without any charges
Tailored for individuals seeking casual encounters and quick and easy connections
Signing up at Spdate
★★★★★ 2.5/5
- Registration is fast and easy
- Create an account as a male or a female
- One-step registration process
- No email verification required
- Advertisements present during registration process
- If you logout, there is no login page to get to your account again
Spdate's basic registration process allows new members to create an account in a matter of minutes.
You only need to provide the following information about yourself such as your name, email address, gender, and age to get in, and that's it! You can start using the site's features with just one step. Take note that the only gender option on the site is either a male or a female.
Immediately after creating an account, there will be a pop-up advertisement on your screen posing as if it's a part of the site's functions. Clicking on it will bring you to an entirely different site so it's best if you close it.
Creating an account is fast and free, so this makes the many advertisements laid out during the process somehow forgivable.
The one thing that makes Spdate's account creation a pain, is that you may have to do it more than once. There are times when you need to logout from your account, but doing this means that you will not be able to log back in again as it has no sign-in page.

The Spdate app
★★★★★ 1.0/5
- There is no app yet
- Access mobile version through your phone browser
- You can create an account on the mobile version
- Features are similar on desktop and mobile version
- Access mobile version for free
Spdate doesn't have a mobile app at the moment, but all of its features are available through a mobile version of the site. You can open it using any phone through a mobile browser. Just go to Spdate like you would using a desktop and the site automatically translates into the mobile version.

Design & usability
Spdate's design is a bit problematic because of too many advertisements. These advertisements are cursor-sensitive so it is very possible to click one up without intending to after attempting to close it. Sometimes, the ads will even get in the way of your chat box so you will end up opening an external link instead of typing a message.
The site's design would have been appropriate and simple if not for these small hiccups.
Special features

“Spdate is free, so a lot of people are coming into this site for fun. Some are disappointed with the fake profiles, while others use them as a source of entertainment. In the end, definition of fun varies from each person and while some people might be dissuaded from joining because of the artificial users, they help boost activity inside the site. There are also real members inside the site, and you can talk to them for free. Not many dating site open up their chat features for free, so that is definitely a plus. If only for the free communication features and entertaining, you may try Spdate out if you want.”
